Not My Sons and Daughters is a non-profit organization rooted in Chicago that serves youth and families throughout the city and south suburban areas. We use the TURN model to provide trauma-informed support and resources. Our goal is to make sure every young person, young adult and family we service has the chance to thrive and build a successful and sustainablle life for generations to come.
Youth Empowerment
Helping students succeed through school advocacy and support, SEL and mentorship.
Emerging Adults
Helping young people ages 18-30 find jobs, manage finances get mentorship/fellowship oppurtunities to thrive within the communitiy..
Family Stabilization
Providing parents the tools they need to keep families strong, communicating and bonded.

Healing neighborhoods through restorative circles , outreach initiatives, strong community partnerships and engagement .

Early Milestones
Successfully launched our pilot Restorative Circles, serving our first 25 families in Chicago and the South Suburbs.
Community Need
Identified a critical gap in support services for emerging adults (18-30) transitioning toward workforce readiness.
Our Mission
Deploying the trauma-informed TURN model to provide immediate social-emotional and advocacy resources.
Near-Term Goals
Scaling our workforce fellowship program to reach 100 individuals by winter 2026 through strategic partnerships.

Our programs are designed
Youth Empowerment (8–18)
tutoring, literacy support, school advocacy, and mentorship programs that increase academic success and graduation outcomes.
Family Stabilization
parent education, resource navigation, crisis support, community connection services
Emerging Adults (18–30)
Mentorship, workforce readiness, resume building, financial literacy, entrepreneurship exposure, fellowship, and parent employment support services.
Community Restoration
community based trauma education, restorative circles, social-emotional skill building, resource referrals, and resilience- building workshops.
